Municipality employees left the scene after damaging a cable
Recently, residents of the "Alamedin-1" and "Uchkun" microdistricts faced a power outage, which they reported to local authorities.
As the residents found out, the cause of the incident was tree removal work carried out by municipal services. During the process of removing one of the stumps, an electrical cable was damaged.
“After the incident, the workers immediately left the area along with their equipment,” local residents expressed their dissatisfaction.
As a result, a significant part of the district was left without electricity. The employees of the Eastern Electric Networks were only able to partially restore power supply.
The situation with tree removal also affected some residents of Bishkek.
It is worth noting that city authorities explain the tree and shrub removal as a necessity for landscaping. Residents are urged to be patient, claiming that old and sick trees will be replaced with young saplings. The removal of shrubs is being carried out as part of the "open space" program, aimed at improving the appearance of lawns.
However, local residents express dissatisfaction regarding violations of various sanitary and environmental norms. Moreover, even if the new saplings take root, it will take many years before they can provide shade and purify the air as adult trees currently being cut down do. Problems also arise with lawns: the lack of shrubs leads to the soil being trampled or used for parking.
