Dina Smolskaya, Olympic champion, shared her thoughts on the chances of Belarusian biathletes at the 2026 Olympic Games, which will take place in Antholz.
According to her, recent positive news from the world of skiing provides additional motivation. "We are eager to compete against the strongest opponents and strive for fair competition," Smolskaya noted.
She added that serious preparation will be required for the return of Belarusian athletes to the international arena, but she is confident in their readiness for this. Smolskaya also mentioned that a neutral status for biathletes is possible, and decisions from the Court of Arbitration for Sport could influence the current situation.
The biathlon competitions at the 2026 Olympics are scheduled from February 8 to 21, where 11 sets of medals will be contested.
