FIFA has announced the launch of a new category of tickets at a reduced price for the 2026 World Cup, in response to fan dissatisfaction caused by high prices.
According to information from FIFA, about 10% of the tickets allocated to each national association will be available at a fixed price of $60 (approximately £45). This new category, called the Supporter Entry Tier, will apply to all 104 matches of the tournament, including the final.
The previously set prices had drawn significant criticism from fans. For example, if the England team reaches the final, fans will have to spend over £5,000, while the minimum ticket price for the opening match was £200, and for the final — over £4,000.
FIFA noted that the decision to reduce prices was made after discussions with national federations, including the Football Association of England and the German Football Association. Tickets at the new price will be distributed through the official fan clubs of the national teams.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place in the USA, Canada, and Mexico and will be the largest in the tournament's history, featuring 48 national teams.
