This information was announced by Trump after a meeting with a White House task force dedicated to preparations for the upcoming tournament.
According to the president, the visa application process used to take up to a year, but thanks to the administration's efforts, the waiting time for most countries has been reduced to 60 days or even less. The FIFA Pass system will allow ticket holders to take priority in the queue, but Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that having a ticket does not guarantee automatic entry into the country. He also added that interviews will be conducted 6–8 weeks after the application is submitted.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino also stated that the World Cup in the USA is expected to attract up to 10 million spectators. It is currently unclear whether the new visa rules will apply to citizens of countries that have entry restrictions to the USA.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19 in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, and it will be Uzbekistan's debut participation in such a major tournament.
