In their first match at the U-23 Asian Cup taking place in Saudi Arabia, the Kyrgyzstan national team faced the tournament hosts. In the 34th minute of the match, player Arsen Sharshenbekov was sent off, putting the team in a difficult position, and the Kyrgyz players spent a significant part of the match with a numerical disadvantage.
