Bishkek 80 Years Ago. Video

The Sputnik editorial team has found unique footage of Bishkek from 80 years ago.
In 1939, the city was called Frunze, and it had a population of just over 50,000 people.
Back then, our beloved Erkindik Avenue was called Boulevard Street. The railway station was not fenced off, and the trees were significantly shorter.
In the video, you can even see one of the oldest houses in Dzerzhinka. By the way, it has hardly changed in 80 years.
Once, where the monument to Marx and Engels stands in Dubovy Park, there was a monument to Stalin. A few meters from the monument, near the Old Square, schoolchildren were engaged in an aeronautics club. They were making airplanes and launching them into the sky.
