Deputies elected chairpersons of 8 committees of the Jogorku Kenesh

The deputies of the eighth convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh held elections for the chairpersons of eight parliamentary committees on December 17.

Kurmankul Zulushiev, representing district No. 10, was elected as the chairperson of the Committee on Constitutional Legislation, State Structure, Local Self-Government, and Regulations. His candidacy was proposed by the parliamentary group "Mekenchil." In the voting, 57 deputies supported him, 26 voted against, and 2 abstained.

The chairperson of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security, and Migration became Eldar Sulaymanov from district No. 5, nominated by the parliamentary group "Adilet Kyrgyzstan." He received 82 votes in favor and 3 votes against.

The Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Subsoil Use, Ecology, and Environmental Protection will be headed by Bakyt Tentishev (district No. 25), also nominated by "Adilet Kyrgyzstan." His candidacy was supported by 80 deputies, while 5 opposed it.

The chairperson of the Committee on Science, Education, Innovative Development, Information Technologies, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs became Toktobubu Ashymbaeva from district No. 20, nominated by the parliamentary group "Mekenchil." She received support from 81 deputies, while 4 voted against.

The Committee on Industrial Policy, Transport, Fuel and Energy Complex, Architecture, and Construction will be headed by Kuvanychbek Kongantiev (district No. 21), nominated by "Ata-Jurt." He was supported by 83 deputies, 2 voted against, and 2 did not participate in the voting.

Altynbek Kudayberdiev (district No. 6), nominated by the parliamentary group "Eldik," was elected as the chairperson of the Committee on Finance, Budget, Entrepreneurship, and Competition Development. His candidacy was supported by 84 votes, with 1 deputy voting against.

The chairperson of the Committee on Judicial and Legal Issues, Law and Order, Combating Crime, and Counteracting Corruption became Bolotbek Borbieyev, nominated by "Ala-Too." He received 82 votes in favor, while 3 were against.

The Committee on Labor, Health, Women's Affairs, and Social Issues was headed by Gulsunkhan Junushalieva, nominated by the parliamentary group "Mekenchil." She received 81 votes in favor and 4 against.
