The title "Джамбы атмай" translates to "Jamby Atmai" in English.

Dzhamby atmay

Dzhamby atmay — shooting while galloping at a target. In the past, the target was a silver ingot — dzhamba, which was hung by a thread on a tree branch or pole. The rider, while galloping on horseback, had to shoot down the dzhamba with an arrow. If successful, he became its owner.

According to modern rules, athletes aged 16 and older participate in the competitions, riding saddled horses, armed with hunting shotguns, and must be skilled in handling both the weapon and the horse.

The competition takes place outside populated areas on a field of at least 500 by 500 meters. The distance from start to finish is 150–160 meters, with a path width of 5–6 meters. The target is hung directly on the path of movement on an L-shaped post at a height of 7–8 meters. In another variation of the competition, the target is located to the left of the lane. A shot can be made in front of oneself in the "fire zone" at a distance of 25–30 meters before reaching the target.

The winner is the participant or team that scores the highest total points and gallops the distance to the finish line the fastest.
