In the upper reaches of the Yassy River, on its right bank, there is a whole series of mineral water springs. Kara-Shoro is the most famous among them, known for its carbonated water springs. There are more than twenty of them, with pure cold water that bubbles with gas, rivaling the taste and healing qualities of the most renowned springs in Europe and Asia.
Within a radius of 25 km from Kara-Shoro, there are other springs: Kulubek, Arkar-Shoro, Chayvai, Kara-Debe, and Baibiche (Chaty). Near Kara-Shoro, you can see the remains of the medieval caravanserai Sogolon, which stood on the caravan route from the Yassy River valley to the Arpa valley. The thick two-meter walls, standing 2.5 m high with six towers, provided reliable protection. Remnants of rooms with fragments of glazed tiles and burnt bricks have been preserved. Several ancient settlements belonging to the Sharobashat culture (4th-1st centuries BC) are located in the area. The Shoro-Bashat settlement is situated on the right bank of the Yassy River, 8 km from Uzgen. The Kyzyl-Oktyabr settlement occupies a high cape on the left bank of the Yassy River, along the road between Uzgen and Shoro-Bashat. The Kosh-Bulak settlement is located on a high cape on the right bank of the Yassy River.
