Sharp Decline in Production and Enterprises in Kara-Balta

What is the city living on today? We painfully note that the sharp decline in production has also affected our enterprises.
Several of them, unable to withstand the new requirements of the reformed economy, have found themselves on the brink of bankruptcy. The toy factory has ceased production, and the industrial complex has drastically reduced its activities. The giant of the republic's light industry, the carpet factory, has stopped. Here, restructuring occurred, and a new joint-stock company "Azem-Kilem" was formed, smaller in terms of production volume.
The new joint-stock company "Azem-Kilem" is smaller in terms of production volume. In 2000, the joint venture "Eridan-Sut" was closed, and in its place, the enterprise AO "Kara-Balta - Sut" was reorganized with the same profile of work. Construction organizations have weakened.
But the city lives on, becoming more beautiful and developing according to market laws, relying in the social sphere on existing enterprises:
- AO "Bakay" and the companies it spawned: OsOO "Bakay-Inpak", OsOO "Bakay-Suu", the Kara-Balta Mining and Processing Plant, and several of its former structural units, GP "Buudai
- Kara-Balta", the Kyrgyz-Chinese joint venture SKK OsOO "Kitlap", the joint-stock companies "Bread Factory" and "Brewery", OsOO "Dos-Alko", AO "Dessert", and some small and medium enterprises, of which there are now more than 300 in the city. Social and utility services and enterprises are now operating stably in the city:
- RES, gas supply, municipal enterprise complex, city water supply, and the Jailyk branch of AO "Kyrgyztelecom".
There are no words - it is a difficult time. It is difficult for everyone: consumers, entrepreneurs, and enterprises, for the entire republic. But the faith in a better future does not leave us. In the history of every city and state, there are ups and downs, periods of flourishing and decline, triumphs of high ideas and the bitterness of dictatorship. This cup has not passed by our sacred land, our city, which arose from the ashes of the past. People have endured these hardships, uniting and coming together under their pressure, without losing their spirituality, customs, and cultural values, akin to the great epic "Manas."
There are all the prerequisites that we will emerge from today's difficulties of establishing a new way of life and reforming economic relations with dignity and courage.
Any state that finds itself in crisis places special emphasis on youth, on its education and training. In our city, this noble cause receives the greatest attention. There are 15 schools, two vocational lyceums, a medical college, and a technical school functioning, staffed with excellent teachers who provide solid knowledge to their students.
We understand that only education can move society forward in the 21st century, and we will do everything to ensure that it becomes increasingly robust, alongside which good companions always exist: sports, health care, and spiritual and cultural enrichment.
