The importance of caring for the environment and the cleanliness of the surrounding area has a direct impact on the development of the tourism industry and the experiences of visitors to Kyrgyzstan. This statement was made by representatives of the Tourism Development Support Fund in the country.
According to the fund, littering in mountainous areas and remote natural locations poses a serious problem. As a result, waste left behind can remain in these areas for many years, causing harm to the ecosystem and spoiling the natural beauty. Plastic products decompose over hundreds of years, while packaging, cans, and food scraps can be consumed by wild animals, often leading to injuries or the death of these creatures. Additionally, soil and water pollution negatively affects human health and the state of the environment.
"Polluted trails and natural areas reduce the comfort level for tourists and negatively impact the image of our country," the fund adds.
Experts emphasize that by taking their trash with them, every tourist helps to preserve the cleanliness of nature, the country's reputation, and the future of the tourism sector. A responsible attitude towards the environment forms the basis for the sustainable development of this sector and is a key factor in shaping a positive image of Kyrgyzstan as an attractive tourist destination.
