Recently, a meeting took place between Bakyt Torobaev, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of Kyrgyzstan, and a delegation from China led by Ho Weiping, the Deputy Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Conference of Gansu Province.

During the discussion on cooperation in the agro-industrial sector, the parties emphasized the production of vegetable, fruit, and medicinal plant seeds. Gansu Province, which accounts for 70% of seed production in China and is known for its research institutions, plays a key role in these matters.

Measures to combat the shrub of the golden sagebrush in the Suusamyr Valley were also discussed. Meeting participants considered not only ways to eliminate these plants that threaten pastures but also the possibilities of processing them for the production of animal feed and fertilizers through the establishment of a joint venture.

The parties also touched upon the issue of supplying specialized equipment from China for potato production, as well as the exchange of experience and training of highly qualified personnel. In this direction, the relevant government bodies of both countries will initiate work.

During the negotiations, it was emphasized that the development of cooperation in these areas would serve as a foundation for increasing trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and China. According to statistics, in 2024, the trade turnover amounted to 23 billion dollars, and in the first nine months of the current year, it has already reached 22 billion dollars. At the same time, the export of agricultural products from Kyrgyzstan increased by two percent.
