The budget proposal has been approved by the House of Representatives of the United States, bringing an end to the prolonged shutdown, which has become the longest in the country's history.

Support for the document came from 222 House members, while a simple majority of 217 votes out of 433 was required for its passage. With four members absent, the necessary minimum for approval was reduced to 215 votes. The proposal received votes from 216 Republicans and six Democrats.

Following this step, the budget must be approved by President Donald Trump, who has already expressed his readiness to do so in the near future.

Earlier, senators reached a bipartisan agreement that allowed for the conclusion of the longest shutdown in U.S. history.

The government will resume operations, and the shutdown, which lasted 42 days, is coming to an end. The previous record was also set during Donald Trump's presidency in his first term.
