According to the report, compared to the previous year 2023, the share of the shadow, informal, and illegal economy increased by 0.3 percentage points. The main factor for this growth was the increase in unobserved activity in the manufacturing sector.
However, when comparing with 2020, it can be noted that the share of the unobserved economy in GDP decreased by 0.6 percentage points. This decline occurred due to a reduction in shadow activity in sectors such as wholesale and retail trade, as well as the repair of cars and motorcycles, which accounted for a 1 percentage point decrease, and in transport services and cargo storage — by 0.9 percentage points.
The National Statistical Committee clarified that the provided data do not include agriculture.
