Why is meat export banned in Kyrgyzstan for everyone except one company?

During a discussion at a meeting of the parliamentary agrarian committee, Deputy Alisher Kozyuev raised the issue of the possibility of exporting meat outside the country. In response, he received a rather ambiguous reaction from representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Deputy Minister Zhanibek Kerimaliev confirmed that there is currently a strict moratorium on meat exports in Kyrgyzstan. However, during the discussion, it became clear that this ban does not apply to all market players.

In particular, the deputy minister noted that the company "Agroholding" continues to export its products. This right was established in a special decree. The main supplies are directed to Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, with transit supplies most often occurring through the southern regions of the country.

Thus, while most participants in the meat market face closed borders for export, some companies, such as "Agroholding," have legal opportunities to trade with neighboring states.
