– The first step when you receive a script is the interest in the plot: how to interpret it, how to create a character and breathe life into him. Then the awareness of time comes to mind, but the era certainly plays a significant role. I have repeatedly stated and will continue to repeat that historical projects are a true gift for every artist, and I gladly take on such scripts.

– I don't have a special method. I prefer to work closely with the director, based on his vision and mood, and also adapt my role to the story we are going to tell. There is no universal approach, as each film and script is unique. It would be wrong and unfair to the profession and the process of character creation to work according to the same template.
– Which of the films – "August" or "Love of the Soviet Union" – was more emotionally challenging for you?
– I won’t hide it: "Love of the Soviet Union" was much harder for me. My character, Anatoly Krov, has traits that are not inherent to me, particularly his constant smile. It was difficult to get used to this, but thanks to the sensitive guidance of the director, the support of the producers and the team, I think the character turned out well. We worked together on the character's traits.
– What new qualities have you discovered in yourself while playing these roles?
– I have started to smile more often. Smile, friends, smile!

– The strength of an actor lies in the ability to convey the human spirit through artistic means, as Konstantin Sergeyevich Stanislavsky taught. Technique and skills are certainly important, but the main thing is to show the life of the human spirit. This is not an easy task.
– How important is the audience's reaction to you and how do you perceive it?
– The audience's reaction is of great importance, as we create cinema for them to evoke interest. I am not afraid to say this, although many claim that "cinema should convey something." Of course, it should, but first and foremost, the viewer should leave inspired or in love – they should connect with the story. I am always happy when a film resonates with the audience, when I see their shining eyes, sometimes full of tears. That is the real magic.
– What do you want the audience to feel after watching "August"?
– Everyone will perceive the film in their own way, but I would like the viewers to empathize with the characters, to love them or hate them. The main thing is that when they leave the hall, they do not say that they wasted two hours of their lives.
– Do you have a dream to play a role from Kyrgyz history or literature?
– I admit, I am not very familiar with Kyrgyz history, but I am sure that there are outstanding characters in it that I would be interested in portraying on screen.
