In response to threats from the Hezbollah movement, the Israeli armed forces carried out a series of airstrikes on southern regions of Lebanon. This statement was made in an official press release from the Israel Defense Forces.
According to information provided by the Israeli army, the strikes targeted three settlements where Hezbollah-related sites were presumed to be located. However, details about the specific targets of the attacks have not been disclosed.
Lebanese media report that the bombings affected areas such as Al-Taybeh and Tayr Debba. So far, Lebanese authorities have not provided information on damage or casualties. Eyewitnesses also noted that drones were spotted in the sky over Beirut.
Israeli military officials state that their actions are aimed at preventing potential threats from Hezbollah. At the same time, in Beirut, these strikes are viewed as a new violation of the peace agreement.
The Hezbollah movement responded with a call for unity among the population. In their statement, they emphasized that "we will defend our legitimate right to resist occupation and aggression, acting together with the army and the people." The organization also rejected any attempts to initiate political negotiations with Israel outside the framework of the existing ceasefire.
“At this stage, Lebanon needs unity, not concessions,” the movement's representatives concluded in their address.
