Edik Sartpaev was born in 1978 in the village of Tüz, located in the Sokuluk district.
It is also worth noting that the village of Voenno-Antonovka and the corresponding rural district were renamed to Kozhomkul, as previously reported in Turmush news. The law on renaming came into effect on February 3, 2025. The head of the rural council reported that the installation of a new stele with the name Kozhomkul was completed on February 10.
As of today, according to official data, 21,700 people live in the rural district; however, unofficial estimates, taking migration into account, suggest that this number exceeds 25,000. The administrative-territorial reform conducted in the country did not affect the Voenno-Antonovsky rural district, where the borders and administrative center remained unchanged.
President Sadyr Japarov signed a law on January 22, 2025, regarding the renaming of certain rural districts and villages in the Batken, Naryn, Osh, Talas, and Chui regions. The press service of the president's administration reported that the law was adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh on December 5, 2024, with the aim of strengthening national ideology and legalizing the names of settlements.
According to the new legislation, the Voenno-Antonovsky rural district has become Kozhomkul, and the village of Voenno-Antonovka is now called Kozhomkul.
The decisions on renaming were made at a meeting of local residents and received approval from local councils, state administrations, and the president's representative in the respective regions.
- The justification for the bill emphasizes that Kaaba uulu Kozhomkul was a famous wrestler, revered by the Kyrgyz and Kazakh people. He was born in 1888 in the village of Ken-Suu in the Suusamyr valley and engaged in livestock breeding and wrestling from an early age, gaining fame in these fields. For 20 years, he led a collective farm in the Suusamyr valley, where he fed the local population and contributed to the construction of a school.
