The large-scale reconstruction of the State National Russian Drama Theater named after Ch. Aitmatov in Bishkek has been completed, marking the most significant renovation in its history since its opening in 1972.
According to the Ministry of Culture, extensive work was carried out during the theater's renovation, including the modernization of engineering systems, updating of interior spaces, reconstruction of the small and large halls, as well as the lobbies and foyer. Additionally, seats, stained glass, window units, and roofing have been replaced, and administrative premises have been updated.
The total cost of all repair work amounted to 320 million soms.
The theater is pleased to announce that on December 6, it will once again open its doors to the audience with the premiere of a play dedicated to the famous writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.
