Akyilbek Alybaev, the director of the State Theater for Young Spectators named after B. Kydykeeva, shared plans for expanding international cooperation and the theater's touring activities.
According to him, this year the theater actively participated in various foreign festivals and projects.
“In the spring, we toured the Theater for Young Spectators through Rossotrudnichestvo, where we presented two performances — ‘Letters-Planes’ and ‘Wake Up, Jalaman,’ based on the works of Chinghiz Aitmatov,” Alybaev said.
Additionally, the theater took part in the ‘Baltic House’ festival in Petrozavodsk, presenting the solo performance ‘Umут,’ dedicated to the Great Patriotic War. Also, as part of the ‘Ryazan Reviews’ festival, the troupe showcased the performance ‘Letters-Planes,’ where theaters from Brazil, Argentina, Iran, India, and other countries gathered.
“We are glad that the Kyrgyz theater for young spectators is increasingly participating in international events. At a meeting with representatives of the ‘Baltic House,’ we discussed opportunities for further cooperation. In 2026, we plan to participate in the festival with our performance,” the theater director added.
He also noted that the theater is ready to organize a large festival of theaters for young spectators in Bishkek.
“In 2027, we propose to hold an international festival of theaters for young spectators in Kyrgyzstan, inviting participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Recently, the Art-Ordo festival took place, featuring theaters from neighboring countries. We would like to organize similar events in collaboration with the ‘Baltic House’ or the Association of Theaters, or with Rossotrudnichestvo. The main thing is to unite efforts,” concluded Akyilbek Alybaev.
He emphasized that the theater has all the capabilities to hold such an event.
