- As part of the master plan that will define the appearance of Bishkek by 2050, the city will be structured into five main functional zones: residential, industrial, agricultural, recreational, and special purpose.

The residential zones will occupy approximately 3,500 hectares, including high-rise, mid-rise, and individual buildings. In the new residential neighborhoods, it is planned to construct 35.75 million square meters of housing, of which over 72% will be multi- and mid-rise buildings.

The public and business zones will cover about 2,000 hectares and will include multifunctional centers, shopping areas, as well as cultural and administrative institutions. Special zones designated for healthcare, education, and sports will occupy 1,202 hectares.

The area of recreational zones is planned to be increased to 2,500 hectares, which will allow for the creation of green spaces for public use, recreational areas, and natural landscapes.

The industrial zones will remain and expand to 2,600 hectares. Plans include preserving the existing western and eastern industrial zones, closing some enterprises located along water bodies, and forming new industrial and logistics sites.

Agricultural zones, including farmlands, horticultural, and farming enterprises, will be reduced to 10,370 hectares as a result of the development of other functional zones.
