Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev witnessed the handover of 81 vehicles to the Ministry of Defense. These vehicles were purchased with state budget funds, which will significantly improve the mobility and equipment of military units, as reported by the government press service.
Speaking at the event, Kasymaliev, on behalf of the president and the cabinet of ministers, congratulated the military personnel, noting that a significant portion of the transferred vehicles was produced in Kyrgyzstan: 19 JAC T-6 vehicles and 36 Chevrolets were assembled at the Tulpar Motors plant. He emphasized that a modern army must combine traditions and modern technologies, and soldiers are obliged to perform their duties with pride and responsibility.
The head of the government noted that in recent years, the country's defense capability has significantly increased. For example, the budget for the Armed Forces has increased by more than 300% compared to 2018-2019. These funds have been directed towards modernizing the material and technical base, purchasing the latest weapons and special equipment, as well as developing the infrastructure of military units and garrisons. The army has already received the latest air defense systems and electronic warfare systems.
Kasymaliev also spoke about the progress in the digitization of the Ministry of Defense. The first stage has already been completed: processes for document flow and personnel accounting have been optimized. The electronic system is functioning in five military enlistment offices, and its implementation is planned in another 25 military commissariats by March. Work has also begun on the digitization of military IDs.
In conclusion, measures for social support for military personnel were announced. The housing rental compensation has been increased to 500 soms in Bishkek and to 420 soms in the regions. Military personnel receive a monthly compensation for mortgage loans: 18,000 soms in the capital and 15,000 in the regions. For those who have served for more than 20 years, state support is provided until the mortgage is fully paid off, and housing can be purchased in any region convenient for them. In the near future, the Ministry of Defense will be allocated more than 900 apartments through the State Mortgage Company.
