Zhibek Ablaeva is a family doctor in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region.

In a conversation with a Turmush correspondent, she shared that she was born on March 8, 1951. In 1973, she graduated from a medical school, receiving a diploma as a dentist.

She began her career in 1975, working as a dentist in Bishkek. Later, she got married and moved to the village of Lipenka in the 1990s, where she continued her career. Since 1998, she has been serving as a family doctor.

“In more than half a century of work, I have two cases that particularly stand out. Once, I received a call: a shepherd's wife had given birth in the mountains. We immediately headed to the location. Upon arrival, we found that the newborn had a sharp, unpleasant smell coming from the umbilical cord. In the mountainous conditions, there was complete uncertainty, and we didn’t know how the cord had been cut. The smell was extremely strong. In a panic, we quickly took the baby and his mother to the hospital, despite offers to stop and have a snack. We tried to get there as fast as possible.

We managed to deliver the child and his mother to a medical facility, where we handed them over to our colleagues. It was then that I was able to calm down a bit. This happened in 1999. I was very worried when I saw that the umbilical cord of the newborn had become infected and was emitting a terrible smell. However, with God's help, we managed to save the life of this child,” Zhibek recalls.

In addition to this case, Zhibek Ablaeva has other memories. “When I was working as a dentist in the village, I was urgently called for help. A woman who had come from another place was suffering from severe malaise. I rushed to her and saw that she was pregnant, and her tongue was severely swollen. We immediately took her to the maternity ward. To this day, remembering the words of the doctors, I cannot hold back my tears. Later, I underwent additional training and became a family doctor,” she shares.

Currently, Zhibek works at the FAP in the village of Ichke-Bulun. She has six children, all of whom have received an education and work in various fields. Her eldest son is a farmer in Karakol and has earned the nickname “king of meat” [“Эттин падышасы”]. Two other sons help him with farming, while her daughters have chosen their own paths. A grandson, who decided to continue the family tradition, is currently in his fifth year at medical school. “My dream is for him to continue my work and help people,” the doctor concluded.
