
During the meeting, Baktybek Kudaybergenov also noted that the preliminary preparation for the census has already been conducted at a high level:
1. All census forms and key indicators have been agreed upon with the relevant agencies and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
2. Four census forms have been approved, along with instructions for staff and a detailed work plan.
3. In 2024, a pilot census was successfully conducted, which allowed for the optimization of software and methodology.
4. In 2025–2026, a multi-stage training program for staff has been organized both in-person and online. Initially, over 200 specialists have improved their qualifications.
To ensure successful oversight of the process, an interagency working group was formed in December 2025. A total of 6,791 temporary workers will be involved in the census, including:
— Registrars – 1,179;
— Enumerators – 4,494;
— Supervisors – 898;
— Coordinators – 220.
The schedule for staff recruitment has already been approved: coordinators will start work in February 2026, while the main staff, including instructors and enumerators, will begin their duties in March-April.
Members of the Republican Commission emphasized that the agricultural census is an important tool for forming an objective strategy for the country's food security. The main goal is to obtain accurate information about the agricultural potential of the republic for effective planning of government support for farmers.
In conclusion of his speech, Bakyt Torobaev noted that government authorities and local self-government bodies are responsible for timely ensuring the organizational and logistical processes related to the conduct of the census.
It is important to note that by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the census will take place from March 20 to April 10, 2026.
