In Kyrgyzstan, an agricultural census is scheduled to take place from March 20 to April 10, 2026. The decision to postpone the dates of this important statistical procedure was made by the Cabinet of Ministers at the end of last year to ensure quality and reliable data collection.

The Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, Zainidin Jumaliev, and the chief specialist of the Department of Statistical Censuses and Geoinformation Systems, Baktybek Orozbaev, discussed the census process on the air of Birinchi Radio, emphasizing its significance.

The agricultural census is a large-scale nationwide event aimed at obtaining current and objective information about the state of agriculture in the country. The main task of this census is to create a reliable statistical database necessary for developing effective state policies and support programs for the agricultural sector. The data obtained will become an important tool for ensuring food security and sustainable development of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.

Zainidin Jumaliev noted that such a census is conducted once every ten years, with the last one taking place in 2003. This will allow for the collection of fresh data on the state of the industry, which will be published on the website of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic upon completion of the event.

Baktybek Orozbaev added that in preparation for the census, republican and district commissions were established. "The census will be conducted in electronic format. The republican commission approved four forms for data collection: for rural areas, state farms, personal subsidiary farms, and peasant farms, as well as for summer cottages," he reported.
