- The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has decided to grant a tariff concession to Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan, exempting them from paying import customs duties on raw cane sugar intended for further processing.

This measure will be in effect until the end of 2026 and includes import quotas: 20,000 tons to Armenia, 100,000 tons to Kazakhstan, and 20,000 tons to Kyrgyzstan.

The Minister for Trade of the EEC, Andrey Slepnev, noted that this decision is aimed at ensuring the stability of the domestic market in these countries, which will help avoid shortages of sugar and sugar-containing products, as well as support employment in sugar processing enterprises.

He also added that white sugar produced from imported raw cane sugar using this tax concession cannot be exported to other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
