Up to 75 mm of precipitation fell in different parts of the city
New York was hit by heavy rain, resulting in the deaths of two people, according to media reports.
City Mayor Eric Adams stated that the tragedy occurred on Thursday, October 30, when people were unable to escape from flooded basements.
During his speech, the mayor mentioned shortcomings in the meteorological forecasting system. According to him, the forecast for October 30 indicated that the rain would start in a few hours, but the bulk of the precipitation fell in just 10 minutes.

According to meteorologists, up to 75 mm of precipitation fell in various areas of the city, causing flooding on many streets. The bad weather will continue on October 31, but strong winds without rain are expected.
