In the competitions held at the Olympics, which featured representatives from over 30 countries, the team from the International Mathematics Centre (IMC) won 4 gold, 5 silver, and 8 bronze medals, while 11 students were awarded special prizes.

The Global STEAM AHEAD 2025 Olympiad, dedicated to science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, took place in December 2025 in Shenzhen, China. The event included competitions in areas such as IJMO (mathematics), VIJSO (science), IJIO (computer science), and IJCO (cybersecurity), which combined contests with cultural excursions and an award ceremony for young talents.

The organizers of the event explained: “The acronym STEAM includes Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. STEAM AHEAD is our initiative aimed at uniting international academic competitions to educate students and provide them with international experience in career choices in these fields. The STEAM AHEAD 2025 program is implemented by SIMCC in collaboration with the Scholastic Trust Singapore Foundation, Singapore International Children Media (SICM), and our partners from 54 countries and territories. We strive to help students choose in-demand professional paths, as the demand for specialists with technical skills in our society is constantly growing. It is important to motivate young people to obtain qualifications in mathematics, sciences, technology, arts, and related fields. With such skills, students will be able to work in innovative sectors and earn decent and high wages,” the statement said.
