Russian boxers took first place at the World Championship in Dubai

At the World Boxing Championship, which concluded on December 13 in Dubai (UAE), the Russian team demonstrated an outstanding result, winning 13 medals: 7 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze. This allowed them to confidently surpass their competitors.

The second place in the competition was taken by the team from Kazakhstan, which won 6 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze), while the third place went to the boxers from Uzbekistan with 9 medals (2 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze).

The gold medals were awarded to the following athletes: Vsevolod Shumkov (up to 60 kg), Ilya Popov (up to 63.5 kg), Ismail Mutsolgov (up to 75 kg), Dzhambulatu Bijamov (up to 80 kg), Sharabutdin Ataev (up to 86 kg), Muslim Gadzhimagomedov (up to 92 kg), and David Surkov (over 92 kg).

The silver medals were won by: Edmond Khudoyan (up to 48 kg), Bayir Batlaev (up to 51 kg), Vyacheslav Rogozin (up to 54 kg), Evgeny Kool (up to 67 kg), and Sergey Koldenkov (up to 71 kg). The bronze medal was awarded to Andrey Peglivanyan (up to 57 kg).

The Russian team competed under the national flag and with the anthem, highlighting the significance of their victory for the country. The successes at the championship in Dubai allowed Russia to confidently take first place in the overall medal standings.
