Mongolian weightlifters won 12 medals at the World Championship

The competition gathered more than 800 participants from 22 countries, and Mongolia was represented by nine athletes who returned home with 12 medals. In the weight category up to 68 kg, Master of Sports of International Class Budjav Enkhbaatar won three gold medals in the snatch, long cycle, and total of the combined event, which added his 10th gold medal of the World Championship to his career.

Additionally, he is studying in the fifth year at the Military Academy of Radiation, Biological, and Chemical Protection in Kostroma (Russia) and became an international judge, receiving certification during the championship. Thus, he became the 47th international-level judge in the world and the first judge from Mongolia in kettlebell sport.


In the women's category up to 68 kg, Undrakh Baaday won two gold medals, while Mungunsaran Myagmar brought home one gold and one silver medal. In the men's category, S. Munkh-Erdene earned a silver and a bronze medal in the weight up to 68 kg, while Ts. Javkhlantugs and G. Erdenegerel won silver in the weight categories up to 78 kg and up to 73 kg respectively, adding several more medals to Mongolia's collection.
