- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky shared details about the 20 points of the proposed U.S. plan for ending the war. During recent discussions with the Ukrainian delegation, unresolved issues remained regarding control over the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and the Donetsk region.
- Among the proposed compromises by the U.S. is the creation of a free economic zone in Donbas; however, for this, Ukraine will need to hold a referendum, which is to be organized within 60 days, provided there is a genuine ceasefire.
- Zelensky also noted that his version of the plan does not include an obligation for Ukraine to abandon its aspirations to join NATO.
- Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on the details of the proposals for a peaceful settlement.
- In the Krasnodar region, two tanks with petroleum products caught fire as a result of a drone attack at the port of Temryuk.
- Also, in the Shcherbinovsky district of Krasnodar region, agricultural complex facilities were damaged due to drone attacks, but no casualties were reported.
- Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin reported that at least nine drones attacked the Russian capital on the night of Thursday.
- Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia using aerial bombs and drones, resulting in damage to residential buildings and injuries.
- According to Ukrainian authorities, after the strike on the port of Yuzhny in the Odesa region, a spill of sunflower oil occurred, leading to the death of dozens of birds, according to Reuters.
- On Wednesday, Russian troops attacked energy facilities in the Chernihiv region, resulting in power outages in the city and its surroundings.
- Also on the same day, strikes were carried out on critical infrastructure in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Cherkasy regions.
- A citizen of Ukraine, Yevgeny B., was detained in Germany, accused of espionage and preparing sabotage on behalf of Russian state authorities. He was arrested in May in the Swiss canton of Thurgau and extradited to German authorities on December 23.
