Two oil tankers collided off the coast of Istanbul

On Tuesday, two oil tankers collided in the Sea of Marmara, one flying the flag of Turkey and the other of Azerbaijan. Information about the incident was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, as stated by RIA Novosti.

On that day, winds in Istanbul reached 75 kilometers per hour, leading to the cancellation of several ferry services.

According to the ministry's statement, the 141-meter long tanker Kalbajar, registered in Azerbaijan, collided with the Turkish tanker Alatepe, which is 115 meters long, in the Küçükçekmece area.

Rescue teams and a tugboat were dispatched to the scene, noted a ministry representative.
