According to Zakon.kz, on January 2, 2026, meteorologists warn of high levels of air pollution in five cities of Kazakhstan.
In particular, adverse meteorological conditions will be observed in Astana, Almaty, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, and Ridder, according to data from "Kazhydromet".
Adverse meteorological conditions (AMC) are a combination of factors such as weak winds, calm, fog, and inversion, which contribute to the accumulation of harmful substances in the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Under AMC conditions, residents are advised to limit their time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other sources of pollution. People suffering from chronic lung diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and allergies should carry necessary medications when going outside.
