A meeting between Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov and Ulaanbaatar Mayor and Governor Niyambaatar Khishgee took place at the administration of the capital of Uzbekistan, where key aspects of development were discussed.
Niyambaatar also visited the Tashkent Situational Center, where he was shown the center's capabilities for monitoring urban processes, ensuring security, and responding quickly to emergencies using modern digital technologies.
As a result of the discussions, the parties expressed interest in activating interregional cooperation, exchanging experiences, and implementing joint initiatives aimed at the sustainable development of capitals and improving the quality of life for their residents.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1992, Uzbekistan and Mongolia have significantly strengthened their strategic partnership, expanding cooperation in economic, transport, and cultural spheres. Important events have included high-level visits and agreements in areas such as mining, agriculture, and logistics, as well as the introduction of a visa-free regime. The main areas of cooperation remain the strengthening of political ties, the opening of the Mongolian embassy in Tashkent, and the development of trade initiatives, as well as transport infrastructure.
According to statistics, bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Mongolia has increased more than 10.5 times from 2019 to 2024, rising from $1.9 million to $20.4 million, indicating growth in economic relations between the two countries.
