Mongolia and the United States conduct joint exercises 'Gobi Wolf-2026'

From December 21 to 23, a working group dedicated to the international exercises "Gobi Wolf-2026" will take place in Uvs. This event is organized in partnership with the General Authority for Emergency Situations (GAES) of Mongolia and the U.S. Pacific Land Command. This event is reported by MiddleAsianNews.

The chairpersons of the working group meeting will be Colonel Uranchimeg Togtbayar, Deputy Head of GAES for Disaster Management, and Major Dmitry Leontiev, Deputy Attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia.

During the meeting, the content and program of the school will be defined, taking into account the types of natural disasters, risk factors, and the region's humanitarian assistance needs.

Uvs Aimag, located in western Mongolia, is a mountainous region abundant in rivers and lakes. Its natural formations range from steppes to mountains and river basins, which increases the risk of dangerous natural phenomena such as snowfalls and floods.

Thus, the goal of the "Gobi Wolf-2026" exercises is to improve interaction between parties during natural disasters, share experiences, enhance capacity to overcome new challenges, and establish long-term partnerships.

These four-day exercises are part of the Pacific Resilience Disaster Response Exercise and Exchange program, focused on interagency coordination of humanitarian assistance abroad and organized by GAES in collaboration with the U.S. Army Pacific Command.

The "Gobi Wolf" initiative plays an important role in enhancing the capabilities of personnel, improving disaster safety, and strengthening partnerships.
