According to Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, “in accordance with Article 7 of the law regarding measures against the recognition of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization, the armies of European countries are considered terrorist groups.”

The speaker of parliament also emphasized that “by trying to strike at the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the Europeans are actually shooting themselves in the foot, making decisions that go against the interests of their people and succumbing to the influence of the United States.”

Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf added that the parliamentary commission on national security will consider the possibility of expelling military attachés from EU countries and will continue discussions on this issue with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On January 29, Josep Borrell, the head of European diplomacy, announced that the foreign ministers of EU countries agreed to include the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in the list of terrorist organizations. This decision was made against the backdrop of the IRGC's involvement in suppressing mass protests in Iran that began in late December.
