The Deputy Attorney General emphasized that mercenarism includes recruitment, training, financing, or use of individuals in armed conflicts, as well as actions aimed at overthrowing the government and threatening the territorial integrity of Kazakhstan. Such crimes carry a punishment of imprisonment for a term of 7 to 12 years.
Additionally, since January 30, 2023, Saburov has been banned from entering Russia for 50 years. According to TASS, this restriction is related to his criticism of the special military operation and violations of migration and tax legislation. The ban was communicated to the comedian on February 6 upon his arrival at Vnukovo from Dubai.
In response to the ban, Nurlan Saburov expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided to him in the country for creative growth. He noted that "time will put everything in its place," and his lawyers will address the issues with the relevant authorities.
