As reported by UzNews.uz, the sentence was handed down in the court of criminal cases of the Bustan district of the Andijan region, where S. K. was found guilty under part 1 of article 154 ("Mercenarism") of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

According to the collected materials, in April of this year, S. K. went to Russia in search of work. Two months later, he was detained by the police for lack of documents. The defendant claims that at the station he was offered to sign documents whose content he did not understand. As a result, it turned out that he signed a contract for military service, which obligated him to participate in the special military operation (SMO) declared by Russia on the territory of Ukraine.

After signing the contract, he was sent to Donetsk, where he unloaded food supplies for Russian soldiers. Later, he was transferred to Luhansk.

One day, on one of the autumn days, S. K. attempted to disassemble the top part of a combat grenade, which led to an explosion. As a result of this incident, he lost his pinky finger and sustained wrist injuries, after which he was hospitalized. However, he escaped from the hospital and returned to his homeland. During his service in the Russian army, he received monetary payments totaling 800,000 rubles.
