A court process took place in Kazakhstan, resulting in two men being found guilty of murdering a young woman and sentenced to life imprisonment, as reported by the press service of the country's Supreme Court.
According to the case materials, the defendants were charged under Article 99 of the Criminal Code, paragraphs 7 and 8 of part 2, as well as paragraph 6 of part 2 of Article 202. In determining the sentence, the court took into account the "particular severity and cynicism of the committed crime, as well as the personal characteristics of the defendants and their behavior before and after the incident." The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
The investigation revealed that one of the convicted men began a relationship with the victim in 2022, but after two years started dating a new girlfriend, which led to frequent conflicts. Ultimately, he decided to get rid of the first girlfriend and involved an acquaintance in this, offering him 500,000 tenge (approximately $957).
The murder occurred in October 2024. The men, K. and H., killed the girl and then stole her phone, which was valued at 700,000 tenge (about $1,340).
Evidence of the defendants' guilt was gathered based on witness testimonies, video recordings from the crime scene, correspondence between them, as well as the results of forensic examinations and the protocol of the crime scene inspection.
