Almost 8 kilograms of gold were attempted to be secretly exported to Kyrgyzstan from Uzbekistan
Today in the Andijan region of Uzbekistan, officials from the Customs Committee and the State Security Service detained a person who was attempting to illegally transport a large shipment of gold. This was reported by the publication Podrobno.uz.

The detained individual turned out to be a 31-year-old citizen of the Fergana region, who was stopped near the border post "Dustlik." During the inspection of his bag, customs inspectors found three metal parts for cars.

Upon opening them with special tools, gold bars were discovered. The total weight of the seized gold amounted to 7 kilograms and 784 grams, with a market value exceeding 12 billion 466 million sums, which is approximately 91 million soms.

According to the investigation, the shipment of gold was sent from Tashkent, and the smugglers intended to transfer the cargo to Kyrgyzstan through truck drivers.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Article 182 "Violation of Customs Legislation" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

He has been placed in custody, and law enforcement agencies continue their work to identify the actual owners of the seized gold.
