Attempt to smuggle drugs from Kyrgyzstan thwarted in Uzbekistan
The State Security Service of Uzbekistan reported the thwarting of an attempt to smuggle drugs, during which nearly 3 kilograms of hashish brought from Kyrgyzstan was seized.

The incident occurred in the Boston district of the Andijan region. Patrol officers stopped a vehicle traveling from Andijan to Tashkent and, as a result of the inspection, discovered 2 kilograms and 994 grams of the drug, belonging to a 39-year-old resident of Andijan.

Additionally, his 32-year-old accomplice was also detained.

According to information received from the SSS, the drugs were purchased from drug dealers in Kyrgyzstan for the sum of 23 thousand dollars with the aim of subsequent sale in the capital of Uzbekistan.

In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been initiated under the articles "Smuggling" and "Illegal trafficking of drugs" of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Both suspects have been placed in custody, and an investigation is currently underway.
