According to information provided by the special services, the criminal group consisted of 15 citizens of Uzbekistan and 10 Kyrgyz nationals. They regularly carried out the smuggling of expensive medical products and jewelry from Turkey, which were then sold in the Osh region and in Uzbekistan.
The smuggling was uncovered during a check of passengers on a flight from Istanbul to Osh, where a significant batch of medications and valuables was found in the luggage of some individuals.
As part of the initiated criminal case, the organizers and active members of the criminal group were arrested, including three citizens of Uzbekistan and five citizens of Kyrgyzstan, who are currently in custody in the GKNB detention center.
According to the investigation, in 2025 the group made more than 50 trips from Turkey, illegally bringing in over 50 kilograms of gold, resulting in significant losses for the state budget.
Investigative activities are ongoing, and the GKNB is actively working to identify other officials involved in this criminal scheme, as well as determining the final amount of damage caused.
