Mongolia actively engages with the OSCE in areas such as strengthening democratic institutions, protecting human rights, cybersecurity, combating corruption, and addressing transnational threats. The OSCE, as the largest regional security organization, applies a comprehensive approach encompassing military-political, economic-ecological, and human dimensions, implementing various projects and facilitating dialogue. Mongolia's accession to the organization in 2012 was a key step for its participation in regional security initiatives and the implementation of the "third neighbor" strategy.
