On December 4, in Vienna, during an informal meeting on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council, the foreign ministers of Central Asian and Northern European countries gathered.
Participants included representatives from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as ministers from Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Finland, and Sweden, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
During the meeting, attention was focused on strengthening bilateral and interregional ties, as well as discussing the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on regional processes within the framework of the OSCE.
The First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Asein Isayev, representing his delegation, noted that in recent years there has been a significant strengthening of cooperation in Central Asia through active political dialogue and joint projects in the fields of economy, transport, energy, and culture.
Isayev emphasized that it is beneficial to learn from the successful experience of Northern European countries, where regional integration has a solid institutional foundation, which contributes to building trust and sustainable development. He also pointed out the need to deepen practical cooperation in areas such as the "green economy," digitalization, energy, education, and climate resilience.
Discussing the situation in Afghanistan, the first deputy minister noted that Kyrgyzstan is actively participating in international and regional efforts aimed at resolving the crisis and supporting the peaceful and stable development of this country.
