IMF: Kyrgyzstan is among the world leaders in GDP growth rates

Today, during a meeting with the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, Daniyar Amangeldiev, Subir Lall, Deputy Director of the IMF's Middle East and Central Asia Department, reported that by the end of 2024, Kyrgyzstan ranked among the world leaders in terms of real GDP growth rates.
The discussion focused on the current macroeconomic situation in the country, as well as the results of the IMF's short-term mission and opportunities for further cooperation aimed at sustainable economic growth.
Daniyar Amangeldiev emphasized that the republic is demonstrating positive results in socio-economic development due to the consistent implementation of reforms.
Among the significant infrastructure projects mentioned by Amangeldiev were the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, the implementation of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1 project, as well as the construction of the Barskoon-Bedel road and the affordable housing program.
Subir Lall highly praised Kyrgyzstan's economic dynamics, noting that there has been stable growth over the past four years.
He also noted that the Kyrgyz Republic is transforming into an "exporting economy," emphasizing that improving the country's integration into regional economic processes contributes to ensuring sustainable growth.
Additionally, the IMF representative pointed out the importance of the stability of the banking system and the need to attract foreign direct investment to maintain positive trends.
Subir Lall confirmed the IMF's intention to continue providing analytical and consultative support to achieve medium-term macroeconomic stability.
