From November 5 to 7, 2025, at the invitation of the OSCE Secretariat, a delegation from the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic participated in the ninth seminar dedicated to passenger data, as well as in the fifth meeting of the informal working group of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The events took place in Vienna, Austria, and gathered more than 180 participants from 57 OSCE participating states, as reported by the press service of the agency.
Among the key discussion topics were over 40 presentations on the implementation of biometric recognition systems aimed at identifying members of international criminal organizations and preventing cross-border threats.
As the vice-chair of a group of 18 countries, the GKNB delegation presented a number of presentations on the process of implementing the API/PNR system in Kyrgyzstan. The experience of cooperation with Interpol and other international organizations in the context of combating the movement of foreign terrorist fighters was also discussed.
On November 6, with the support of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Austria, a meeting took place between the delegation and the Austrian Deputy Minister of Finance, Andreas Reichhardt. Measures to counter the financing of terrorism and money laundering were discussed, as well as strategies for reducing financial risks and protecting financial flows.
In addition, a working meeting was held with Austrian companies, during which modern solutions in the field of cybersecurity and the protection of critical infrastructure were presented. As a result of the negotiations, a visit by a delegation of Austrian companies to Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for November 24-25, 2025, for further discussions on cooperation.
