On December 5, 2025, official negotiations took place in Vienna between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Battsereg Batmunkh and the Minister for Europe and International Affairs of Austria Beate Meinl-Reisinger.
During the discussions, both sides noted that the upcoming visit of the Federal President of the Republic of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen to Mongolia in May 2025 is of great importance for the development of bilateral relations and deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The negotiations also addressed issues of economic and investment cooperation, as well as expanding collaboration in the fields of renewable energy, forestry, green technologies, education, culture, and tourism. Both sides confirmed their readiness to achieve these goals.
In this regard, Battsereg Batmunkh invited Beate Meinl-Reisinger to visit Mongolia at any time convenient for her.
The parties also expressed their intention to continue strengthening cooperation within the framework of the UN and other international organizations, as well as exchanged views on regional and international policy issues.
