The incident occurred on the afternoon of February 20 near Cape Khoboy. According to the investigation, at the time of the incident, there were nine people in a UAZ vehicle. Employees of the investigative operational group are working at the scene to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
The Governor of the Irkutsk Region, Igor Kobzev, reported that one of the passengers managed to escape, but the others, according to preliminary data, have died.
In connection with this tragedy, a criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, concerning the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements and resulting in the unintentional death of two or more persons, as well as under part 3 of article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, related to negligence.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing to establish all the details of the incident.
