
According to local authorities, a UAZ-452 minibus, driven by a man named O.B., was traveling from the Khangai somon to the Renchinlkhumbey somon with seven passengers when it fell through a crack in the ice in the Khachim area of the Dalai-Zakh region.
This incident occurred approximately 170 kilometers north of the center of Renchinlkhumbey somon, 70 kilometers from the village of Khatgal, and 62 kilometers east of Renchinlkhumbey. Emergency services received reports of the incident at 20:16.
As a result of the incident, one adult and one child drowned in the vehicle, while five passengers managed to survive.
Authorities once again urged citizens to be cautious and avoid traveling on the ice of lakes to save time or shorten routes, emphasizing that cracks can appear suddenly and pose serious dangers.
