Protests began in the U.S. after a woman was killed in Minneapolis

According to law enforcement, the woman attempted to run over an ICE patrol, which led to the tragic incident.

In response to these actions, ICE officials stated that the shooting was carried out in self-defense, as they feared for their lives and the safety of those around them.

The victim was identified as 37-year-old poet Renee Good, who was a local resident and a U.S. citizen.

The Department of Homeland Security characterized the incident as an act of domestic terrorism, stating that attempting to run over law enforcement officers is unacceptable.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey sharply criticized the federal authorities' statement. He called it a "garbage narrative" and demanded that ICE "get the hell out," describing the incident as murder.

President Donald Trump supported ICE's actions, stating that after watching the video of the incident, he concluded that the woman was behaving aggressively and obstructing law enforcement. He noted that the shooting occurred in self-defense.

A memorial has formed at the site of the tragedy, where locals bring flowers and candles in memory of Renee Good.

Protesters are gathering in various parts of the city, chanting Renee's name. Many are holding signs that read "ICE out." Protests are also expected to take place in New York, Miami, and New Orleans.
